Manufacturing Process of Plastic Bottles

General description of Plastic Bottles
A plastic bottle consists of a cap, narrow neck and large body. It is primarily made from plastic material or recycled plastic waste.
The bottle is manufactured as containment for drinks, liquids, fluid products and water. The raw material used in the production of plastic bottles is polyethylene terephthalate.
The great attraction to polyethylene is the durability, availability, strength and light weight. The composition dictates the clearness of the bottle.
Locating the Enterprise
The location depends on the zoning formula for such commercial venture. Make sure the factory has utilities such as water, electricity and good road network.
The size of the factory depends entirely on the capacity of the plant. Lease the property or purchase landed property and build your factory.
Incorporate the company as a limited liability company and get insurance cover. Apply for a trade license and subject your bottles to standardization test. The product could need a value added tax inclusion.
Sourcing the Raw Materials
It is essential to find good source of raw materials. Network with companies that have the raw materials you need to produce PET. Other considerations are type of machinery either fabricated or branded.
Funding
Majority of the funds you need are from bank loans or core investor. Sell startup equity in your business or try a partnership arrangement. Cost of equipment, leasehold, staff wages and purchase of raw materials are the main challenges.
Quality Control
The plastic bottles need to pass strict quality indicators. Quality control is essential to test the thickness of the bottles, vacuum resistance and capacity.
The bottles need to pass a transparency test including pressure resistance. Other tests carried out on the product are damage resistance, glossiness and durability.
Raw Materials used to Produce Plastic Bottles
There are two types of plastic bottles manufactured by companies. You have the poly propylene and the high density poly ethylene.
The difference between the two types of poly ethylene is the durability of the product. Regular poly propylene is the best product to use in manufacturing your bottles.
The reason is because poly propylene produces a clear bottle is flexible and durable. The containment is very effective in retaining liquid.
High density poly ethylene is less durable and has an opaque look. The product is best suited for storage of drugs and food related products.
Plastic Bottle Manufacturing Process
To make bottles you need to first manufacture the PET. The injector mold is the most common production process used in manufacturing plastic bottles.
Once the PET is placed in a mold it is heated and then stretch through the blow mold process. The PET is transferred to another mold where pressurized air and stretching occurs.
The bottom of the bottle is joined during the molding. The formed plastic bottle is then rapidly cooled to retain the shape. The bottle then goes through a trimming process.
Polyethylene terephthalate is the most common form of bottle found in the market. Polymerization is the process whereby PET is obtained from petroleum hydrocarbons.
Marketing the Plastic Bottles
Plastic bottles are in high demand in industrial application and homes. The bottles are recyclable, attractive and easy to manage.
Juice and fruit companies including drug companies use plastic bottles. Another common use of the bottles is to retain water. Mineral water companies use lots of plastic bottles to contain the liquid.
Use both traditional marketing strategies and electronic campaigns. Create a website and include photographs of your products, price and description.
Include a shopping cart, location, email address and dedicated telephone number. Hire experienced machine operators to produce the bottles.
